The Benefits of Journaling:
Relieve Stress
Journaling can provide an outlet for you to express your true feelings and emotions with no consequences. This is because (unless you decide to share your journal) no one else will read your entries. If you are a very private person, you may be reluctant to express your emotions to others. So writing about your feelings can be very therapeutic. You have the comfort of knowing that you can keep your thoughts private while still being able to release them in an appropriate way.
Clear Thoughts
As a result of releasing your emotions through journaling, you will be able to think more clearly. Journaling helps you to gather your thoughts, organize them, and think of clear solutions. Journaling seems to make time stand still. You will be able to slow your thoughts down enough to ease feelings of anxiety and stress.
Promote Self-Reflection
One of the most effective benefits of journaling is self-reflection. Writing about your life experiences helps you to see the personal progress you have made and areas in which you can improve. It can also promote gratitude. As you look back over your writings, you will be reminded of God’s great love and faithfulness to always bring you through trials and tribulation. Furthermore, you allow yourself to relish in your resilience. Sometimes, we can be too hard on ourselves. So, it is necessary to take time every now and then to give yourself a figurative pat on the back. In the long run, this builds self-confidence as well!

After a cruel attack on the life of a young man on the parking lot of Calvary Bible Church in Florissant, MO a committed group of pastors decided to come together on the 2nd Friday of every month to Pray and stand against the attacks of the enemy on our city, state, country, and world. We believe this monthly gathering is evidence of the prayers that have been going forth in out city to "tear down wickedness, raise up righteousness, and bring healing to our land." As believers we have the spiritual authority and faith filled prayer is a God ordained way for us to exercise that authority. In support of this prayer gathering please join us as "we pray heaven to earth" (Matthew 6:10).
